Dear Friends and Supporters of COJO,

I hope this email finds each of you staying healthy and well.

Today, I humbly reach out to you on behalf of our beloved Jamaica's most vulnerable – our children in state care (those who have been neglected, abandoned, abused and/or orphaned). Many of these wards continue to excel academically and socially despite the multiple challenges that they have faced.

This year, the COVID-19 global pandemic has crippled the face-to-face learning for many of these young people and, as such, they are attempting to learn virtually via online classes.

The Child Protection and Family Service Agency (CPFSA) - the agency COJO principally works with in Jamaica - has reached out to us, requesting that we partner with them to provide these children with the devices needed so they may continue learning. We need your assistance in providing computers and iPads in this regard. Three Hundred (300) devices are needed to be be distributed to children in state care who are being negatively impacted by the absence of face to face classroom learning.

Additionally, we continue to fund scholarships for students at several tertiary institutions -- for whom failure is not an option. They too are having challenges with too few devices at their disposal.

As you no doubt know, for over 25 years COJO, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, based in NY, has been assisting the less fortunate in Jamaica to achieve their full potential through education. But this year, due to the pandemic COJO will be unable to hold its principal fundraiser - the December charity gala.

So, we are counting on your to help us reach our goal of $50,000. Your kind contribution of $10, $20, $50, $100 or $500 can go a far way in making a difference in the lives of these children.

COJO Family, we are aware that we're living in challenging economic times, however, we CANNOT afford to allow these deserving children who have been performing exceptionally well despite their circumstances to be denied an opportunity for greatness and success.

We are counting on you to reach out to your community: co-workers, family members, neighbors and church or community groups by sharing this message and encouraging their support. We are confident that the children will continue to excel and make us proud. Any assistance provided will be greatly appreciated.

The 2020/21 academic school year commenced on October 5, 2020 and these devices are needed urgently. As the popular Jamaican saying goes, "One One Coco Full Basket"; please help us make a difference. No contribution is too small.

The Children are speaking, and we can hear them from afar; they are counting on us.
